The Rumored Relationship with Aamir Khan

Fatima Sana Shaikh has often been in the news for her alleged close relationship with Aamir Khan. After her big break in Dangal, produced by Aamir Khan, rumors swirled that he continued to mentor her and played a key role in helping her land major projects. It was speculated that Aamir Khan’s influence secured Fatima’s role in Thugs of Hindostan, a Yash Raj Films production. While neither party has confirmed these rumors, Fatima’s association with Aamir Khan has remained a hot topic in Bollywood circles.
Not Dangal, but Ishq Was Fatima’s First Film with Aamir
During a candid conversation on a podcast hosted by comedians Bharti Singh and Harsh Limbachiyaa, Fatima stunned fans by revealing that her first on-screen appearance alongside Aamir Khan was in the 1997 film Ishq. In one of the most iconic scenes of the film, she played a little girl held by Kajol while Aamir Khan performed his famous “mara, mara, mara” sequence. Clad in a pink frock, Fatima made a blink-and-miss appearance in the film.

Recalling the moment, she said, “Bohot pehle wo Ishq film thi. Usme ek scene hai jahan pe Aamir jaata hai aise ‘mara, mara, mara’ karta hai aur saamne Kajol uske haath mein ek bacchi hoti hai toh voh bacchi main hun. Haan voh main hoon.” (“Long back, there was a film called Ishq. There’s a scene where Aamir does his ‘mara, mara, mara’ act, and Kajol is holding a little girl in her arms. That child is me. Yes, that’s me.”)
This revelation left Bharti Singh astonished, and she immediately expressed her desire to rewatch Ishq to spot young Fatima in the scene.
Fatima’s Early Acting Journey

Before becoming a household name with Dangal, Fatima Sana Shaikh had already carved a niche in Bollywood as a child artist. She had appeared in films like Chachi 420, Bade Dilwala, and One 2 Ka 4. However, despite working with some of the biggest names in the industry during her early years, it was Dangal that truly catapulted her into stardom.
The Success of Dangal and Life After

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Dangal told the inspiring story of wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat and his daughters Geeta and Babita. Starring Aamir Khan, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Sanya Malhotra, Zaira Wasim, Sakshi Tanwar, and Aparshakti Khurana, the film was a massive commercial success and received universal critical acclaim. Dangal not only broke several box office records but also established Fatima as one of Bollywood’s most promising talents.
