Vidya recently graced Raunaq Rajani’s YouTube show, Relationshit Advice. The episode also featured comedians Sumukhi Suresh and Pavitra Shetty, making for an evening filled with laughter. In a lighthearted segment, Pavitra listed her ideal man’s qualities, saying, “Funny, rich, and very rich.” The room erupted in laughter, and Vidya, ever quick with her wit, quipped that Siddharth checked all those boxes.
She confessed she never envisioned herself as the marrying kind until Siddharth entered her life. “I never thought I’d get married. But then I met Siddharth and thought, ‘Funny, rich, very rich.’” It was her humor that made this confession even more endearing.
The Love Story That Began with Destiny
The Vidya-Siddharth love story began in 2010 at a party hosted by Karan Johar. Vidya shared that Karan had intentionally invited them both, playing cupid in their relationship. Initially shy, Vidya found herself drawn to Siddharth during their first meeting. It was a chance encounter that sparked a bond, leading to their marriage in 2012.
Sometimes, it’s the little moments that make the biggest impact. For Vidya, it was during a rainy night after returning from a trip. Siddharth had come to pick her up from the airport, and despite the heavy rain, he walked without an umbrella to fetch her a cup of coffee. Watching him in that moment, she thought, “I’m home.”
This heartfelt incident was one of many that convinced Vidya she had found her soulmate.
Vidya also revealed that their relationship blossomed while she was at the peak of her career, working on films like No One Killed Jessica. The connection felt natural and undeniable, as they continued to cross paths during work events and gatherings.
Vidya humorously recalled one of their “immature fights.” Siddharth, who rarely takes pictures, once photographed a sunset but didn’t capture her. Feeling overlooked, Vidya questioned him, saying, “You’ve never felt the urge to take my picture but took one of the goddamn sunset?” Looking back, she admits this fight stemmed from her being “needy and clingy” that day.
