Janhvi Kapoor on The Making of “Mr. & Mrs. Mahi”

Date:

As the premiere date for “Mr. & Mrs. Mahi” approaches, fans are abuzz with anticipation.

This new sports drama, starring Janhvi Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao, has received a lot of attention, especially after a behind-the-scenes video was released that shows the extraordinary devotion and hard work that went into making the film. Here’s a look at what went into making this film a reality.

Janhvi Kapoor, who plays Mahima in the film, had to go through extensive cricket training to play the character authentically. Despite her past expertise in physically demanding positions, this project provided a completely new set of obstacles. Director Sharan Sharma recalls Janhvi’s initial underestimate of the work necessary, believing it would be comparable to her preparation for “Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl.” Cricket, on the other hand, asked far more of her, both physically and psychologically.

The filmmaker also discussed about the medical concerns Janhvi faced during the shoot. “We discovered she had multidirectional instability (MDI), which is great for dancers but not for cricketers. In two months, she tore ligaments in both shoulders. We had to give her time to recover with proper rehab.”

Janhvi described her experience, stating, “It was a struggle, but an enjoyable one. “I am the least athletic person on the earth. She said that she was hurt twice during the filming, one owing to an inside-out manoeuvre and the other from a switch hit.

Her cricket coach, Abhishek Nayar, characterised her training as “rigorous,” similar to that for the IPL. “We went to Baroda for a six-day camp, where we worked with international cricketers to understand their body language and techniques.” Towards the end of the film, director Sharan Sharma thanked Janhvi for her devotion and hard work, prompting three cheers for the actor.

“Mr. & Mrs. Mahi” is a hat tip to cricket legend Mahendra Singh According to Janhvi, the film was inspired by Dhoni’s concept of focusing on the process rather than the product. The movie, directed by Sharan Sharma, stars Rajkummar Rao as Mahendra, a former cricketer, and Janhvi Kapoor as Mahima, a doctor turned cricketer.

During promotions, Janhvi was seen wearing outfits with the number six. She explained, “Mahima’s jersey number is 6 because Dhoni’s number 7 is iconic and out of respect, we chose 6.”

The excitement is definitely building for the release of Mr. & Mrs. Mahi on May 31st. This romantic sports drama blends comedy, romance, cricket and passion into a story about Mahendra and Mahima, a couple united by their love for the game. It sounds like a film that will have something for everyone!

The film’s opening song, “Dekha Tenu,” is a romantic ballad that reprises the popular words from the song “Shava Shava” in “Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham.” It was composed by Jaani and performed by Mohammad Faiz, and it perfectly depicts the spirit of Janhvi and Rajkummar’s on-screen chemistry.

Get ready for the release of Mr. & Mrs. Mahi! This highly anticipated film is a story of passion, perseverance, and the dreams we chase. Experience the blood, sweat, and tears that went into making this movie, all thanks to the incredible dedication of Janhvi Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, and the entire team. It’s a cinematic journey you won’t want to miss!
